Wow!
It has been a rather eventful year to say the least, and I guess I should attempt to get caught up on a few blogs!
Before our first week of kindergarten was over we ended up in the Pediatric ICU with
JB. Why do you ask? Here are a few pictures for documentation.
Cody informed me later that on the ambulance ride to town
JB kept telling the
EMT's "Don't take my blood," so as you can expect we had two failed attempts at an IV before getting to the hospital. After a hefty dose of pain medicine in the ER this is a very drugged
JB in the
Pedi-ICU. Not a picture any mother or father wants to see.
The puncture wound. Who would have thought such a small little hole could produce such a life changing event.
JB with his grandparent produced loot for being in the hospital. A visit from Kye and sister never hurts either.
Our attempts to get JB out of the wheel chair and back to walking. He watched us play put-put, but did not want to have anything to do with putting pressure on his leg.
The damage. The marks are to make hourly measurements to record swelling changes.
JB ended up having 4 doses of anti-venom before his swelling started to go down.
More loot from loving neighbors. This was to hide from the nurses and doctors!
Finally out of ICU and on the road to recovery! Once again, more loot from all of our loving family and friends!

The culprit... Four foot long rattlesnake on the playground during PE.
Not to worry though, JB was riding horses by the next weekend!
