First Day's of School

We're awake!

She does not know what is coming yet...

Brushing our teeth :)

JB refused to smile.

There was too much going on for him to look at the camera.

I had to drag Taylor out of the building, she wanted to stay at Bubba's School.

Tuesday morning, Taylor's first day of school!

After School!

Mommy's relief that school is back in session!

I will have to admit that there has not been a tear shed or even an upset moment on my part. This Mommy is confident that both JB and Taylor are ready for school, and that we are all in need of a little alone time. More importantly than that though, I am excited about this school year. I am going to get one on one time with both of my kids this year. This is something that has typically not happened all that much. I am going to be blessed with JB and Mommy time while Taylor is still at school and Taylor and Mommy time while JB is at school! This year is going to be so rewarding for all of us!

I hope that God blesses each and everyone of you this year!!

Lake Greenbelt

I love spending time just the 4 of us. At home we sometimes get stuck in the routine of everyday life, but on an adventure as we usually call our day trips anything can happen! These are the little impulse outings that Cody usually comes up with. On adventure days I am constantly reminded of the love and appreciation our children have for us.

Taylor is my little hugger! Anytime she is truly happy about something she will come up to me and say:
"Mom, your my Mom!" This has almost become her substitute for "I Love You." I will take it anytime. The best part is that this little phrase is usually accompanied by many little kisses and a short period of snuggle time!!

JB is very pure when it comes to showing his enjoyment. It is hard to find him without a beautiful smile stretched across his little face! And of course we can never get enough of his "I love you, too" in his big boy voice.

All in all, our little adventure days give me time to sit back and observe. The little things that we are typically too busy to take in while tackling laundry, dishes, toys, and all the other tasks of managing our homes.

I hope you enjoy our little adventure to Lake Greenbelt as much as we did!

Best Dad Award!

Cody and his little helpers!

Stars, I can't see any?

JB found this telescope at one of our friends houses.

Cody is always willing to oblige the kids anytime they bring him something new and interesting...

As you can see, they totally understand what's going on.

Bath time is usually my job,

but who would mind when you have these too as your clients?

On any given day I have sleepy,

groggy, or completely out of it!

So, as I said before, I give the Best Dad Award to our Daddy!

A day for an adventure...

I knew this morning that today would definitely have at least one adventure. So we left at 9:30 for my appointment with the chiropractor. From there we ventured to PetCo to find Sammy a new toy. Luckily for Mommy's sake Mardell's is right next door to PetCo, so in we went. The kids played at the train table while I looked for a new Veggie Tale's movie and a few books. It still wasn't lunch time yet, so I decided to chance it and make a quick visit to Once Upon a Child. By the time we finished there it was time for lunch. I had promised JB that we could go to the "playground restaurant" a.k.a. "chick-fil-a." This is usually always a quick and easy trip for us. We go no later than 11:30 to beat most of the lunch rush, and also for good balloon selection. Lunch was complete, and if this was not enough adventure for all of you we still had one more stop planned.

Nearly every time we go to town we pass by the Cadillac Ranch. JB and Taylor are both constantly asking if we can stop and go look.

July 28th!! This day every year brings such joy to me. Eight years ago in Las Vegas, NV Cody and I were joined together forever! After a few too many days in Vegas with family, friends, and a few too many 21 year olds we said our vows in front of our congregated mob and began our lives as a married couple.

There are too many memories to count from this trip, and so many who attended who bring up their best moments from the eventful weekend to this day. All in all though, or marriage and our relationship has continued to grow stronger everyday. I truly feel that we are each others other half.

Eight years should seem like a long time, but as usual it seems like yesterday! During that time we have lived in 6 different houses in 5 different zip codes, and brought two new lives into the world. We have welcomed 3 nieces and 2 nephews into the world, and said our heartfelt goodbyes to 2 grandparents. We have seen countless sunsets and sunrises, and never missed a goodnight (no matter where Cody might have been).

I hope that all of you out there have felt the love that Cody and I have for each other, and will be blessed by God as we have. To many more unforgettable years with my best friend!!!

Introducing Sammy!

Well folks, I believe I have been thrust into our next pet. Luckily she is a very mild tempered cutie pie. Last Tuesday morning I was greeted with a phone call from Cody asking (pleeding) me to rescue a little kitty. My motherly instinct kicked in and the kids and I were off to pick-up the newest member of our family.

On Thursday we visited the Vet and were informed she had most likely taken a ride around a fan belt. She is a little roughed up, but overall she is healing well and we expect a good check-up with the Vet on Wednesday.
