Mother daughter shoes!

Some of you have asked me to post these to Pinterest so here they are.

Every year around the holidays either Thanksgiving or Christmas the girls of the Deaton family have started making these. I don't have all of the nieces pictures, but I can try to get a few of them. Lexi's turned out really cute this year, and Avery's were Texas Tech double T's last year.

Ingredients:
Converse Tennis Shoes
E-6000 glue
Rhinestones

I put the glue on the shoes first, then let the girls place the rhinestones. This is much easier then trying to put glue on each rhinestone.

Have Fun!!!

Goals, they're good to have!

I am rather embarrassed to admit this, but my Mom bought me a new sewing machine two Christmases ago and it is still in the box. There has been a lot going on during the past two years, but the main reason for me not getting it out has been space. Realistically I'm not going to be able to sit down from start to finish and get a project completed in one day and get my mess cleaned up before mom duties start back up.

Oh well I say, it's time. I have missed sewing and I'm ready to get back to it. Maybe my messes will also get Cody into the mood for the bigger house we have been discussing.

Goal number one is to make a couple of these guys for some very dear friends of ours. The only thing I'm waiting for is to see if I need to add a little girls detail or not. Project number two is to go fabric shopping for these.

Wish me luck!

School Lunches

Oh Boys! Many of you know exactly what I mean. JB came home from school yesterday and informed me that he did not eat lunch because the food was nasty. I must admit that I have been a little lax this year. Adding Charlie to the mix has been an adjustment, but I think I need to start doing a little better with JB and Taylor. I have been stock piling lunch ideas and recipes to try, and was wondering if any of you out their had any favorites for a picky eater.

Little Miss Taylor will try and eat most things, but JB has a limited mindset when it comes to things that look yucky and become uneatable due to their appearance.

Any ideas or recipes are very appreciated, and I will update everyone on successful lunches!

Rattlesnakes & Kindergarten!

Wow!

It has been a rather eventful year to say the least, and I guess I should attempt to get caught up on a few blogs!

Before our first week of kindergarten was over we ended up in the Pediatric ICU with JB. Why do you ask? Here are a few pictures for documentation.

Cody informed me later that on the ambulance ride to town JB kept telling the EMT's "Don't take my blood," so as you can expect we had two failed attempts at an IV before getting to the hospital. After a hefty dose of pain medicine in the ER this is a very drugged JB in the Pedi-ICU. Not a picture any mother or father wants to see.

The puncture wound. Who would have thought such a small little hole could produce such a life changing event.

JB with his grandparent produced loot for being in the hospital. A visit from Kye and sister never hurts either.

Our attempts to get JB out of the wheel chair and back to walking. He watched us play put-put, but did not want to have anything to do with putting pressure on his leg.

The damage. The marks are to make hourly measurements to record swelling changes. JB ended up having 4 doses of anti-venom before his swelling started to go down.

More loot from loving neighbors. This was to hide from the nurses and doctors!

Finally out of ICU and on the road to recovery! Once again, more loot from all of our loving family and friends!

JB & Taylor in the kids wing playroom the day we got to go home!

The culprit... Four foot long rattlesnake on the playground during PE.

Not to worry though, JB was riding horses by the next weekend!

Thanks Cash & Brody for the much needed physical therapy!

What's in a Name?

t's nearly that time around the Timmons house. I am currently 18 weeks along and this pregnancy seems to be flying by now. Next Tuesday on JB's 5th birthday I will be going in for my monthly appointment. At that time we will be scheduling my next ultrasound for the following weeks. I am very excited about finding out what we are having, but at the same time we will be doing away with a set of names.

Cody and I easily agreed upon names for both a boy and a girl very early on this time. Boys names have always been pretty easy for us. JB was inspired from a college friend of Cody's. All we had to do was fill in the blanks. Joshua came from the Bible, when all else fails look to the book!! Brent is Cody's middle name. This one was very easy. On the other hand though Taylor was a bit more of a challenge. Cody and I both like traditional names, and our girl names have always been a challenge. Taylor was also shy and we did not know she was a girl till around 28 weeks. When we finally found out I had to start over with my lists again. Why? Cody had vetoed everything on my list. I went through the baby name book countless times and started my list with about 30 names. I narrowed that down on my own first to 16. I took those 16 to Cody and he did not like any of them. I knew I wanted to use part of my Mother's name, but was not sure which part. So I had the additional challenge of finding a name that went with either Dana or Carol. Finally at 33 weeks I went back to Cody with 6 names with my mother's names as I would like to use them. Taylor had been on my first list, but I guess when I added the Carol is just seemed to work.

This time around Cody and I both agreed on both a boys and girls name within the first few weeks of finding out we were pregnant. They are once again traditional names and pulled from both of our families. I think this is what is making it so hard to have to say goodbye to one set of the names.

For a boy we will be having a:

Charlie Dale- Charlie is associated with both sides of the family. Charlie first comes from Cody's maternal great-grandfather, Charlie Brent. It also has ties in my family. My grandpa was Joe Charles Deaton, as well as, a cousin of mine. Dale is my dad's middle name.

For a girl we will be having:

Dana Christine- Dana was my mother's name. How lucky will I be to have two girls with both of my mother's names in theirs. Christine was Charlie Brent's wife. Making her Cody's maternal great-grandmother. I was lucky enough to know Granny Christine while she was alive, and this is truly a tribute to her!!

Now you know the story behind our names! Who are you voting for?

Dana Christine or Charlie Dale??

Here's to finding out soon!!

Unexpected Blessing!

Well I guess it is safe to let everyone in on our unexpected blessing for 2011. Back in early February we found out that we are expecting baby #3. Cody and I had both decided before this that we were content with our little family of four and were ready to take steps towards ovary removal or having my tubes tied. So to say the very least this was a huge surprise.

Over the last 15 months I have read so many message boards about "Baby after PBM," needless to say I never thought that I would one day be in that position. So far things have gone very well. If you were around for my two previous pregnancies you know that I am not a very good pregnant woman. I tend to spend a great deal of my 9 months hugging a toilet or pan of sorts with extreme nausea and vomiting. I had sworn off the thought of having any more babies because of this. Up to this point I have religiously taken my zofran, and had good and bad days. As of Monday we have crossed the 12 weeks mark and seem to be doing very well. I will not say the nausea is gone completely, but seems to be much better. We are still taking things day to day and pray fervently each night for another good day in the morning.

JB & Taylor are both very excited about having a baby, so excited that they have already moved in together and given up one of their bedrooms for the baby.

Other than that things are well in the Timmons household!!

First Day's of School

We're awake!

She does not know what is coming yet...

Brushing our teeth :)

JB refused to smile.

There was too much going on for him to look at the camera.

I had to drag Taylor out of the building, she wanted to stay at Bubba's School.

Tuesday morning, Taylor's first day of school!

After School!

Mommy's relief that school is back in session!

I will have to admit that there has not been a tear shed or even an upset moment on my part. This Mommy is confident that both JB and Taylor are ready for school, and that we are all in need of a little alone time. More importantly than that though, I am excited about this school year. I am going to get one on one time with both of my kids this year. This is something that has typically not happened all that much. I am going to be blessed with JB and Mommy time while Taylor is still at school and Taylor and Mommy time while JB is at school! This year is going to be so rewarding for all of us!

I hope that God blesses each and everyone of you this year!!

Lake Greenbelt

I love spending time just the 4 of us. At home we sometimes get stuck in the routine of everyday life, but on an adventure as we usually call our day trips anything can happen! These are the little impulse outings that Cody usually comes up with. On adventure days I am constantly reminded of the love and appreciation our children have for us.

Taylor is my little hugger! Anytime she is truly happy about something she will come up to me and say:
"Mom, your my Mom!" This has almost become her substitute for "I Love You." I will take it anytime. The best part is that this little phrase is usually accompanied by many little kisses and a short period of snuggle time!!

JB is very pure when it comes to showing his enjoyment. It is hard to find him without a beautiful smile stretched across his little face! And of course we can never get enough of his "I love you, too" in his big boy voice.

All in all, our little adventure days give me time to sit back and observe. The little things that we are typically too busy to take in while tackling laundry, dishes, toys, and all the other tasks of managing our homes.

I hope you enjoy our little adventure to Lake Greenbelt as much as we did!
