Mother daughter shoes!

Some of you have asked me to post these to Pinterest so here they are.

Every year around the holidays either Thanksgiving or Christmas the girls of the Deaton family have started making these. I don't have all of the nieces pictures, but I can try to get a few of them. Lexi's turned out really cute this year, and Avery's were Texas Tech double T's last year.

Ingredients:
Converse Tennis Shoes
E-6000 glue
Rhinestones

I put the glue on the shoes first, then let the girls place the rhinestones. This is much easier then trying to put glue on each rhinestone.

Have Fun!!!

Goals, they're good to have!

I am rather embarrassed to admit this, but my Mom bought me a new sewing machine two Christmases ago and it is still in the box. There has been a lot going on during the past two years, but the main reason for me not getting it out has been space. Realistically I'm not going to be able to sit down from start to finish and get a project completed in one day and get my mess cleaned up before mom duties start back up.

Oh well I say, it's time. I have missed sewing and I'm ready to get back to it. Maybe my messes will also get Cody into the mood for the bigger house we have been discussing.

Goal number one is to make a couple of these guys for some very dear friends of ours. The only thing I'm waiting for is to see if I need to add a little girls detail or not. Project number two is to go fabric shopping for these.

Wish me luck!

School Lunches

Oh Boys! Many of you know exactly what I mean. JB came home from school yesterday and informed me that he did not eat lunch because the food was nasty. I must admit that I have been a little lax this year. Adding Charlie to the mix has been an adjustment, but I think I need to start doing a little better with JB and Taylor. I have been stock piling lunch ideas and recipes to try, and was wondering if any of you out their had any favorites for a picky eater.

Little Miss Taylor will try and eat most things, but JB has a limited mindset when it comes to things that look yucky and become uneatable due to their appearance.

Any ideas or recipes are very appreciated, and I will update everyone on successful lunches!

Rattlesnakes & Kindergarten!

Wow!

It has been a rather eventful year to say the least, and I guess I should attempt to get caught up on a few blogs!

Before our first week of kindergarten was over we ended up in the Pediatric ICU with JB. Why do you ask? Here are a few pictures for documentation.

Cody informed me later that on the ambulance ride to town JB kept telling the EMT's "Don't take my blood," so as you can expect we had two failed attempts at an IV before getting to the hospital. After a hefty dose of pain medicine in the ER this is a very drugged JB in the Pedi-ICU. Not a picture any mother or father wants to see.

The puncture wound. Who would have thought such a small little hole could produce such a life changing event.

JB with his grandparent produced loot for being in the hospital. A visit from Kye and sister never hurts either.

Our attempts to get JB out of the wheel chair and back to walking. He watched us play put-put, but did not want to have anything to do with putting pressure on his leg.

The damage. The marks are to make hourly measurements to record swelling changes. JB ended up having 4 doses of anti-venom before his swelling started to go down.

More loot from loving neighbors. This was to hide from the nurses and doctors!

Finally out of ICU and on the road to recovery! Once again, more loot from all of our loving family and friends!

JB & Taylor in the kids wing playroom the day we got to go home!

The culprit... Four foot long rattlesnake on the playground during PE.

Not to worry though, JB was riding horses by the next weekend!

Thanks Cash & Brody for the much needed physical therapy!
